Para conseguir una nueva decoración o realizar pequeños cambios que harán más agradable y fácil la vida doméstica, es imprescindible saber elegir los materiales, determinar el método más eficaz y conocer los procedimientos que le permitirán actuar como un profesional. ¿Cómo se coloca la moqueta en el suelo o una cenefa de papel en la pared? ¿Cómo cambiar un fusible? ¿Cómo arreglar un grifo?.... Partiendo del principio que establece que se reconoce a un buen operario por sus herramientas, el autor presenta primero los útiles y materiales indispensables. Luego, ilustrando sus consejos con dibujos y fotografías, aborda las diferentes áreas del bricolaje y los problemas que presenta cada una de ellas.
