En arrivant à Briançon en 2018, j’ai redécouvert Cervières et son plateau. J’ai alors souhaité en apprendre davantage sur son histoire. Il y a cent quinze millions d’années, cet endroit était recouvert par la mer.Cervières est un village de 280 habitants, où règnent tranquillité et calme. Les élus locaux ne souhaitent pas encourager un tourisme de masse, comme c’est le cas dans le village voisin de Névache. Quelques familles y vivent depuis plusieurs générations, chacune apportant sa propre vision, comme les familles Brunet, Faure-Brač, Raymond et Viouas.Le village de Cervières doit se projeter dans l’avenir tout en valorisant son présent. Par exemple, le mont Chenaillet est en passe d’être classé massif protégé par la région. Cervières, village agricole et artisanal, conserve son authenticité et son calme paisible. Sur le plateau de Lause, on peut encore voir les vestiges de la ligne Maginot de 1940. En haut du mont Chenaillet, on aperçoit le plateau de Gondran E, un haut lieu militaire avec les restes de casernement et du fort Gondran E, ainsi que le col du Bosson et le lac Noir.Plus loin dans la vallée, on trouve le Marais du Bourget, où ont été tournées certaines scènes de la série télévisée « Hugo ». Enfin, la plaine des Fonds et son refuge offrent une échappée loin du bruit de la ville, dans une campagne paisible. En se rendant en Italie par le col, on peut parfois apercevoir des chamois, des loups et des renards, selon la saison.

Ce qui me surprend le plus, c’est de voir le grand ordre qui règne parmi tous ces gens qui circulent sans se connaître. Ils vont, ils viennent, ils courent, ils ne se heurtent pas. Ils se faufilent les uns entre les autres avec une adresse étonnante, sans à-coups. La première de couverture de « Mission Touareg » - Le voyage en France de l’aménokal Moussa ag Amastan n’a pas été choisie au hasard. Elle traduit avec justesse les propos tenus en interview le 9 août 1910 après-midi par le chef de l’Ahaggar, au cercle militaire de l’Opéra Garnier où il logea du 7 août au 15 septembre.Illustré par une série de photographies originales, cet ouvrage propose la reconstitution et la recontextualisation d’une excursion de quatre mois qui eut lieu à l’été 1910. Grâce à un travail de recherches et d’études d’une vingtaine d’années qui restitue un pan important du patrimoine immatériel du peuple targui, Valérie Chébiri nous révèle dans le détail le programme et l’emploi du temps de ce périple qui comble un vide chronologique important et rétablit le légendaire aménokal Moussa ag Amastan, musulman et soufi, dans son héritage culturel et historique.Cette nouvelle publication fait suite à une première parution qui a pris fin avec la liquidation de la maison d’édition précédente. Elle s’en distingue par des clichés renouvelés ainsi que par des informations revues à la hausse, un index, et des vidéos postées sur la chaîne YouTube, la SMDBASTProduction, du Musée Moussa ag Amastan que dirige l’autrice, faisant de cette nouvelle version un véritable outil de travail et de référence.
