Forcés de quitter leur territoire de l’ouest de la Roumanie sous la marche de l’Armée rouge en 1945, ils vont réaliser le chemin inverse, près de deux cents ans après leurs aïeux. Après plusieurs années d’errance au cœur de l’Europe, plusieurs milliers de ces « heimatlos », des sans-patrie, parviendront en Alsace. À travers un chassé-croisé entre des familles alsaciennes et des familles banataises, c’est une œuvre de réflexion sur les identités des personnes, des peuples et des territoires, modelées par les caprices de l’histoire et des frontières. Nous y croisons grands et petits noms de cette Europe du XXe siècle, parmi lesquels Béla Bartok, Jean Arp ou encore Georges Devereux. Dans un univers clos et rude où la survie est le souci de chaque instant, les relations obéissent à des règles strictes fixées par le Conseil des prisonniers. Duval commencera à éprouver la rigueur de ces règles quand, lors d'un violent orage, Céline trouvera refuge dans sa chambre.

The closing music ends in a sad way, called Melancholy same instrumental at nearly 3 minutes as the fate that befalls these innocent people awaits them.! The story itself runs to about 14 minutes, and and is narrated in my own voice.I do hope you and enjoy this audiobook , there are a lot more to come!Christopher Allen at your service

Le comte Guillaume d’Esternay, petit noble en pleine déchéance, se voit investi par le roi d’une mission en Nouvelle-France, soit celle d’enquêter sur de prétendues malversations commises par l’intendant Bigot au détriment de la couronne. Québec est presque en vue lorsque le vaisseau qui amène le comte s’échoue brutalement avant d’exploser. Gravement blessé et tiré d’une mort certaine par des Montagnais, Guillaume craint de ne pas pouvoir remplir ses engagements envers le roi. Non seulement est-il physiquement diminué et confiné au fond des bois, mais de plus, il a tout perdu dans le naufrage, dont une lettre d’introduction destinée à un contact essentiel à sa mission. Il cherchera un moyen pour mener celle-ci à bien, ne serait-ce que pour regagner sa fierté perdue, mais rien ne sera facile et la menace d’une remontée de la flotte britannique vers Québec ne fera qu’ajouter à ses difficultés. En France, le roi et le ministre Choiseul, persuadés que d’Esternay n’a pas survécu au naufrage, dépêchent rapidement un remplaçant pour mener l’enquête. Robert de Neuvy s’installe donc à Québec et réussit à s’introduire au cœur même de cette ligue de profiteurs, qui par leurs pratiques criminelles, mettent en péril l’existence même de la colonie. Mis au fait de la menace qui pèse sur lui, Bigot, avec l’aide d’un coureur des bois sans foi ni loi, fera l’impossible pour se sortir indemne de cette histoire.

The closing music, “Bloom”, ends the tale on with more of the same at about 2 minutes and the same musical instruments etc. but more of an ending feel and looking forward to the next story in the series. The story and music itself runs to just about 14 minutes and is narrated in my wife's voice, Claire, who actually was a ranger guide! This is the first of six audiobooks in the series, the others will become available in the very near future and I do hope you enjoy this second instalment, and it's only $3, all subsequent will remain at that price as I would not like price to be a barrier to your enjoyment.I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, accordion, fiddle, harmonica and bango in a classical sea shanty jig called Edwards Journey”(through this story). The closing music ends the tale looking forward to the next story at about 2 minutes long and the same musical instruments and is called Edwards Voyage (to the next story). Blackbeard's real name was Edward Teach. The story itself runs to about 13 minutes is is narrated in my own voice.
