Knowledge of the law and procedure is not enough to make you a good lawyer. Practice of law requires more than academic and technical understanding. To be a good lawyer you must develop the skills which will allow you to use your knowledge of law and procedure in an effective, ethical and efficient way. The core skills are: (a) writing and drafting; (b) legal research; (c) interviewing and advising clients; (d) negotiation; and (e) advocacy.
